I’m so so happy to share with you something big that has been in the works for almost a month. In collaboration with some of the best film writers here on Substack, I have compiled a full breakdown of every Academy Awards category this year! The 2025 FilmStack Oscars Round Table come complete with our picks for Who Will Win, Who Should Win, Dark Horse contenders, and our Snubbed, But Not Forgotten favorite films from the past year.
Think of this guide as a peek into the minds of your favorite film obsessed friends. From the foodie serving tortellini in brodo alongside hot takes on cinematography, to the self-professed “antihero” film critic giving you the lowdown on screenplay nominees, to the Luca Guadagnino/Justin Kuritzkes obsessives still mourning the absence of Challengers and Queer’s presence among the nominees, this magazine provides a kaleidoscope of perspectives on some of the best films of the year. I had a ball reading through all of the submissions as I was editing everything together, and I am so proud to share their writing with all of you.
